The PlanetSide 2 team at Toadman Interactive recently released a letter talking about how the new team is approaching audio work, improvements, optimization, and bug fixes. They’ve just shared a new update on feedback they received, and what they're looking at moving forward.

Given that this is a new audio team that took over work on a long-running game in an established franchise, they made announcements on what they were looking towards working on. In that letter, they delved into some of their plans and put that up for feedback as well, via comments and a survey.

Some of their proposals included a potential fix for the audio dropout issue that had been eluding repair for a while, along with a sample video of the fix. They also talked about potential music updates, including adding music to the game, potentially getting all of the soundtracks on streaming, and they also proposed potentially tweaking the NC music and potentially other game tracks. They've also proposed tweaking some of the audio in the game to sound more like it did years ago, but an improved fashion with more current acoustic technology.

The new update is to the point, thanking the community for their feedback. Toadman promises that they've been looking into all of the suggestions on new features and new and updated sounds. Additionally, what they've received in terms of bug reporting is now all in the hands of the QA team with fixes to be rolling out regularly.

One of the points of potential contention looks like it was over the NC music. “We hear you loud and clear about not removing the NC music. Fear not! While we explore our new vision, we’ll share samples and gather community feedback. We’ll find a way to keep everyone happy,” they said.

As for the new, a MAX weapons audio rework is coming, which follows the Infantry and vehicle weapons. There will be new voice packs on the way, more new music tracks, and the return of the T7 BRRRRT.

They also asked if anyone has heard that audio dropout bug in the past 30 days. If not, maybe it's finally is gone.
