The PlanetSide 2 Arsenal update is now live on PC. The update is a huge one, overhauling and retuning many of the game's weapons, adding over 800 weapon attachments, new equipment, and a whole bunch of vehicle and infantry balance changes.
Overhauling all of the weapons is only the beginning of this update. There are new faction specific mines, giving you tactical mines for extra defense. New class specific grenades have been added, which also give your playstyle some options. If you are a Combat Medic, for instance, you'll be able to use the new cleansing grenade. They detonate on impact and remove most status effects, as well as give 300hp healing over 3 seconds. If you are an Infiltrator, the new timed EMP should help you in your stealth operation, detonating after 3 seconds in a 10 m radius, scrambling HUDs and depleting shields. Standard grenades have gotten balance changes as well.
Each faction has an Empire-specific Basilisk top gun that will be available across multiple vehicles. For some of them, it will be part of the default equipment, and it can be unlocked for other vehicles as well.
The heart of the update, being called Arsenal and all, are the broad weapon changes across the board. The changes affect all weapon types and include adding customization as well as balance changes. Things like reducing the initial damage from knives to give certain players a chance to react to the first blow before the second, potentially killing blow, lands. The more than 800 new attachments have been added that will let you customize your weapons more broadly as well as making them more suitable to just how you want to play. Some of these weapon attachments include heavy and short barrels, angled grips, different ammo types, and a whole lot more.
The update is a huge one, which is impossible to understate, so you can take a look at the full patch notes to see all of the massive number of changes over at PlanetSide 2.
