During the month of August, multiplayer shooter Ghost Recon Phantoms is giving away $40,000 worth of in-game items during its Phantom Heist Event. Starting with this weekend's Steam giveaway, the event will give players a peek at the new Ghost Recon web comic series (starting August 6th) and the chance during the Mad Loot weekends to win mystery boxes containing legendary or limited edition weapons.
Details of the event are as follows:
- Steam Giveaway: August 1-3. Players can obtain a 30-day, 100% boost that helps them speed up progression and beef up their in-game income.
- Mad Loot: every weekend during the month of August, the number of mystery boxes dropped at the end of every round will be increased. The Gold box will appear 60 times more often.
- Web Comic Series: August 6-September 24. A new eight-part comic series reveals the backstory of the Phantoms.
