In the newest NGS Headline, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis' monthly update has been revealed and it includes a level cap increase, a new chapter two side story, new Urgent Quests and Battledias, and even some concerts coming for a bonus.

The new update arrives on February 9th. The level cap is being raised to 40 and there’s a new chapter 2 side story to play through. This will help bridge the game a bit in a year the team has promised to add more contentAdditional features of the update include new ranked areas across the terrain. These will extend the available challenges to play through to support the new level cap increase too.

Rank 3 will be added to Mt Magnus and Vanford Laboratory Ruins

Rank 2 will be added to Resol Forest

Rank 2 Battledias will be added to Aelio

Rank 2 of every Urgent Quest will be available across regions

Also increasing the challenge will be an increased chance for Chaos Trials. The Chaos Trials will potentially occur in these higher-ranked areas and it will be up to you to get to the combination of Trials and claim victory. It will also be notable that Trials from Retem will also happen. And Chaos Trials might sometimes be combined Boss Trials.  In other words, there may be a lot to do and fast.

If that wasn't enough, there will be a new enemy, Megalotix. Megalotix will drop meseta and grind materials and will appear in the brand new higher ranked sectors. A level 44 Gigantix will also start to spawn in each region.

And for those who want something a little different, there will be two new concerts, Song of War and Song of Mourning on the stage in 2022. If you attend one of these concerts you will get a concert boost buff.  When it comes to music, various tracks from the OST for the game are being released across streaming services, so a musical update is right on time.
