Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is getting in gear for October updates and the return of Halloween celebrations.
The latest NGS Headline outlines the new content on the way. A new limited time quest is coming to Kanai Isle in Aelio on October 4th. Night Chill Battle will send out waves of enemies and you must defeat them within the time limit. As long as you keep defeating a certain number of enemies, the time limit will increase and give you some breathing room.
The main story continues on October 11th, as Chapter 6, Part 3 of the story opens. If you’ve been following along, then you know there are some questions to be answered. According to a release on the update, we may get a little closer to some answers:
“Manon takes on an assignment as a surveyor to resurvey Halpha, Aina is a new instructor, and the protagonist becomes a Guardian, with the three of them struggling to fulfill their roles. The protagonist meets Aina and Manon while fighting off the Starless appearing around Halpha and handling requests from people. What do they end up overhearing?”
Retem is getting a regional update. Expect high-level Gigantix, Dread Enemies, and Recon Gigants in Rwh Maquead. This will mean Starless Gigantix invasions too. Oh, and there will be a mysterious floating island above Rwh Maquead, but more to come on that later this fall.
Warp Saucers, a new object, will be added to exploration sectors and in the Maqead Lower Level Combat Sector. These new objects will let you move at high speed up to five times in a row, letting you get around and explore faster. Each of the exploration sectors will get a new trial, TAMES Trapping where you herd and trap TAMES within a time limit.
Halloween is coming, and the Minute Time Event in PSO too will start on October 18th. Central City will get its annual Halloween decoration, but Retem city is also joining the festivities. Regions Mags will have turned into pumpkins.
The season brings a couple of urgent quests and limited time quests too. Haunted Domain will be part of the event. There's a new limited time quest coming in late October for 24 players. Dreisen Plant Interception starts on October 25th.
Finally, there will be a number of customization options added, including the ability to create individual cel shading settings for different characters on your account, and a few other player experience changes.
