It's Really a Flugelgard

Jeepers Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis fans, it looks like there are plenty of updates headed your way in the month of November. SEGA recently provided a slew of exciting updates in their recent YouTube video, where you can see the new enhancements headed to the game such as new quests, bosses, and super-sweet rewards.

Some of the updates already dropped on November 1st, where players were introduced to the Retem Alnothe Combat Sector. The update to Retem Alnothe will introduce a new Rank featuring the Starless and brand-new boss enemy. There will be titles and some scratch ticket rewards to earn along the way.

As the month progresses, the stakes continue to rise with Giant Mutants emerging in Retem's Exploration Sectors from November 8th onward. To take place in these battles, players will need to follow Task Markers and defeat Dread Enemies to lure them out. This event is not meant for new players, as it pis intended as a high-level challenge in both North and South Retem. Those who are able to defeat those ugly mutants and complete the Limited-time Daily and Weekly Tasks will earn more seasonal scratch-ticket rewards.

On November 15th, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis ARKs Defenders will get to take on a new Urgent Quest called Omen of the Planetbreaker. This quest is a more accessible version of the high-difficulty mission from August and will allow up to 8 players to join forces with far more relaxed failure conditions. That means that there should be ample opportunity for less battle-inclined players to earn some great rewards. Alongside the new urgent quest is the inclusion of a 10-star Rarity Flugelgard (yes that’s the real weapon name) weapon series. This weapon series boasts some unique enhancements for players and their fellow ARKS defenders when activated after a Photon-Blast.

If you thought PSO2:NGS was done with updates after the 15th, well you would be wrong. When November 22nd rolls around you’ll be hit with the arrival of the powerful Starless Halvaldi Vera on Halpha. This new enemy is going to be a lot stronger than its predecessors but the risk will be worth the rewards as it drops a new mineral, Dread Scales, which can be exchanged for an upgraded 9-star Rarity Melek weapon series.

Finally, if that wasn’t enough of a content drip throughout the month, November 29th introduces the new Limited-time Operation, Drill: Cave Clean-Up. This is a defensive mission for up to 12 players where you’ll need to protect a Transport Truck from a multitude of dangerous enemies. There will be new Limited-time Tasks and Title Tasks up for grabs, and successful runs of the operation will grant you a chance to obtain weapons from the coveted Flugelgard series.

As Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis continues to bridge the gap between the Global and Japanese servers, there still seems like there’s plenty of juice in the tank to keep ARKS operatives excited through the month of November. If you haven’t hopped in for a time, you can now play PSO2: NGS on any platform with cross-platform play across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
