Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is growing next month with the Sandstorm Requiem update, the game’s first major update that includes the new Retem region, new enemies, new characters, skills, elemental techniques, and chapter 2 of the storyline content.

The update also raises the level cap to 35 for all classes and gives each class a new Class skill. Some of these include the Hunter’s Sword Arts Change Skill, the Force class’ Technique Domination, and the recently added Bouncer class’ Blade Arts Parry. There will also be three new Elemental Techniques added: Wind, Light, and Dark.

Along with the new level cap Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will get its first title system. Players can earn new titles for their collection from in-game achievements like defeating a certain number of enemies, getting an S ranking in challenges, and more.

Aside from being able to continue into chapter 2 of the ongoing story content, the center of the update is the new region of Retem. Retem is a hot and dry place, filled with sand dunes, and rocky terrain. Expect the new enemies to also fit the theme and to keep you busy with some epic large scale battles. Retem isn't going to be a peaceful location, of course. Chapter 2 has a new heroine, Nadereh, and other new characters too. Explore Retem City and the lands to get to know what's going on and what your role will be.

The Sega team has confirmed the intention to launch a major large update approximately every six months for PSO2: NGS so when Sandstorm Requiem launches in December, it will change much and hopefully keep players busy for a while.
