The mysterious floating island of Leceil is waiting in the newest major update for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis. Today’s update adds Chapter 5 of the story, new characters, and features. It also adds the new Gunblade to prepare for next week's arrival of the Slayer class.
The newest class, the Slayer, Is coming on April 12th, but the arrival of the Gunblade in drops today. Once April 12th rolls around, you’ll be able to accept tasks from Instructor Slaine and get started on mastering the Gunblade along with the Slayer. Today's update also brings the exchange shop and tickets that you can potentially trade for gun blades and weapon camo to get ready.
This update introduces a number of features, from in-game features, available settings options, and a bunch of quality of life updates. Among those are adjusted fixed camera zoom settings, a setting to manage all colors on your customization, new features to your ARKS ID, resolution settings for the preview display on PC reduction for character and enemy draw refresh rates, and much more. You can also generate add-on skills more easily, and search for Alliances that are currently recruiting.
And then there’s that big floating island. Naturally, you'll get a chance to go there and uncover some secrets of Halpha. Manon is gone,so that’s also something you’ll want answers to.
The update also adds a new solo quest type, Duel Quests. There are four to start, each being a much more difficult quest, pitting you against each region's boss enemy. They will be stronger than the first time you faced them, but this is a high risk and high reward feature.
If you can’t get enough of difficult bosses, debuting with this new update is the second week of the big second anniversary event. This week, take part in a 24-player limited time quest, A Wetlands Interception.
