Recently, Pearl Abyss has been pulling back the curtain on Crimson Desert, the company’s upcoming open-world action adventure title, this time with a new 50-minute gameplay video. The early gameplay footage shows off the Landscapes and setting, combat mechanics, and gives a glimpse at the narrative, featuring Kliff, the protagonist.
Kliff is the leader of the Greymanes, and the video wastes no time getting things started, landing us right in the middle of bloody conflict between the Greymanes, who want peace, and the Black Bears, who want to shatter the peace, Kliff narrates. Keep watching and you’ll get a taste of the early narrative that (mild spoiler) separates Kliff and the Greymanes, and the game’s brutal combat.
Combat is one of the standout features in Crimson Desert that Pearl Abyss has focused on. Not only will you get to learn new skills and progress, The team is making sure there are multiple ways to approach combat and fights and to get through, looking to tailor the experience to any player who puts together their own blend of skills, weapon work, and combos. Combos play a big role, whether you're fighting one-on-one duels, boss fights, or even hordes of enemies. You’ll have options, and can expect to make some strategic decisions.
The video isn’t necessarily in sequence, Pearl Abyss notes. It is all from the earlier parts of the game build as it is now, and They're releasing it to more or less given overview of the core elements of the game.
This is a long video, so things shift to show you Klff learning new abilities, receiving new quests, meeting new people through the terrain, and even a boss fight at the end of the video. This follows a demo at Gamescom last month, streamed gameplay footage, and several boss fight videos released of some of the different types of bosses you'll encounter. Each of these bosses that they previously showed was encountered in a different biome, and one of the stars of this 50-minute video is the terrain in the open world.
Watch Kliff travel around and explore, cross terrain via horseback, on foot, and even gliding around in the air. Pearl Abyss has touted their realistic and varied environments, and with everything else going on, you'll still notice the scenery.
Crimson Desert is still in development, but with the team making some big reveals recently, it seems that things are on track.
