At The Game Awards, Pearl Abyss showcased a new Crimson Desert trailer, showing off brand new gameplay and revealiing features from the upcoming action RPG and a launch window.
The team announced a late 2025 launch window for the game, giving us an idea of when we might take up arms and jump into the fight as Kliff, the leader of a band of mercenaries, the Greymanes, who narrates. After delays, Pearl Abyss has been showing off more of Crimson Desert, starting a few months ago at Gamescom, with the first playable demo. Along with the demo, they gave us a taste of lore and mechanics with the reveal of several full boss fights.
In the new trailer, we got to see some of the combat systems and the large-scale battles that are key to the experience. As you progress through the open world, and rack up victories in duels to large-scale battles, you'll unlock new gear, including weapons and armor and learn new abilities to weave into your strategies for future challenges.. One thing to keep in mind is that Crimson Desert is designed with flexibility in mind. There isn't just one way to win battles or boss fights, because it's designed to be playable and adaptable to your playstyle.
Did you know that Kliff can hop aboard wyverns and control them in battle? Now you do. And you can unleash fire on your enemies below. Pearl Abyss is going big with Crimson Desert.
Expect open world action, and additional RPG features and elements like exploration, climbing, gliding as we saw in the trailer, fishing, cooking, puzzles to solve, and more to get involved in. The world of Pywel is rich with environmental features like dynamic weather, a time cycle, environmental changes and more that are fueled by the BlackSpace Engine.
Now that we have a new gameplay trailer and a launch window, we're heading into 2025 with much more yet to be revealed.
