Pearl Abyss is celebrating 10 years of Black Desert with a brand new music video, and opening up a mini site dedicated to the 10-year anniversary.
The open beta for Black Desert Online launched on December 17th, 2014 with one town and four classes to explore. Now, Black Desert is at home on multiple platforms, with a global release, console and mobile versions. The 8th anniversary of the North American release and console launch were celebrated back in March, with Pearl Abyss also marking two years of self-published play with new events in today’s update.
The Dear Adventurer music video, with a new song (in Korean, with subtitles) has been made for the big 10th anniversary, and features a collage of screenshots and pieces created by the community. The new minisite highlights the beginning when everything opened up, through subsequent openings in new terrain, 2019 arrival on consoles, to now and what’s to come.
“06:00, December 17, 2014.
Our adventure began in the small town of Olvia with just 4 classes. We ventured from Valencia to O'dyllita, and reached the Land of the Morning Light. Our story continues because you are with us, Adventurer, and it will continue on, thanks to you.”
The music video is the first feature on the 10-year anniversary minisite, and there are more features coming soon. On the page there is a “My 10 years of Black Desert” that you can look back on your own adventures, and more features will be on the way
Today gets things started with new events in the update to mark two years of Black Desert Online being self-published globally. There’s a new login event, the “Monsters, Gathering, and Fishing” event to slay monsters and collect event currency for goodies, and a Life Event collection event.
The latest player experience improvement has also dropped. Enhancing ships is now streamlined. Instead of chasing various ingredients, you now only need to acquire just one: Tidal Black Stones. This will not only make upgrading ships easier for veteran players, but more welcoming to new ones too. Full details on the change are in the new patch notes.
