After confirming that Crimson Desert would be playable at Gamescom, Pearl Abyss has some more details on their presence at the show next week, and the demo.

This is the first playable demo for the game, and  Pearl Abyss is giving us a hint of what to expect. You play as Kliff and start out on the battlefield with the Greymane mercenaries. The demo features the game’s action-combat, so part of the demo will get you up to speed with  the basics of attacking, blocking, dodging, and the use of special skills. You'll get a chance to use Kliff’s sword and shield, bow, and skills to start putting together combos and unleash them on the hordes on the battlefield.

This will be followed by some cutscenes to give you a look at Kliff and the other mercenaries’ story in the open-world action adventure game.

After this introductory bit, you'll head to a different area  where there are four bosses you can choose from. Once you pick a boss, the battle will take place in a particular realistically designed biome from the game’s world. These could be snowy mountain tops or grassy fields, but the boss battles are designed to offer a fresh experience since not only will you have to analyze the boss’ style and mechanics, but there’s no one way to approach combat here.

Crimson Desert’s developers emphasize the flexibility of combat, using combos, and combining elements to suit your own playstyle. So when you choose a boss and analyze their mechanics, speed, and style, you'll get a chance to put all you learned before to use. They're simply isn't one solution.

For those who play the Crimson Desert demo, they'll get some swag and the chance to take a  survey for a chance to win prizes.
