Pax Dei's Lucrative PvP Playtest Starting Tomorrow Will Allow Plots in the PvP Province

Build in Lyonesse and reap the rewards if you take the risk

Pax Dei will open a new PvP playtest tomorrow in Lyonesse, and also open the province for the first time to building during the test.

Mainframe will start the test tomorrow, October 23rd, and  it will remain open until their next content update, Proving Grounds, on November 5th. Normally you can’t build in Lyonesse, but the team is flipping things for this test event. you'll be able to place a plot down, start building, and even collect all the pure iron ore you can make off with. Since this is still a PVP zone, you're vulnerable to attack at any time. This means potential attacks even if you are idling or just standing around on your plot, or even in building mode. You still have some security though, as the same plot settings apply within Lyonesse. If you don’t set things to public, people can’t touch your stuff.

You could spend your time building really high walls, but if you’re in a PvP test like this, you’re probably not conflict averse. It could be pretty lucrative if you’re willing to take the risk.

As with all of the other plots, Proving Grounds will mean a wipe. So, anything you lay down in Lyonesse will be gone, but any items or resources on your plot will be returned to you. So there's definitely an advantage to getting in there and participating.

Why are they doing this? Well, for now, as with many things in Early Access, they're getting feedback. Specifically, on whether or not people are interested in PvP and building in the PVP province. They've heard many requests for more in depth and, “real PvP”, so here's a new option. They're also looking to see what solo players and clans might do under these circumstances and how they work to use their resources.

This event is temporary, but if it’s successful,  and potentially depending on the community's response, they may consider revisiting it later. If you love PvP,  here's your chance to weigh in.

In the test announcement over on Discord, Mainframe offers some tips to making the most of the event, as well as a FAQ to get us all prepared to jump in.
