Pax Dei’s big changes are here, with the Proving Grounds update. The update is finally live after an extended maintenance to fix a last-minute bug.
The team has been previewing the update for a few weeks, and preparing everyone for the big wipe, plots being moved, new updates to the world, combat changes, and much more. The update is here after they needed more time to fix a bug that was letting people build on roads.
If you had items like materials for building pieces, props, and other items you placed in containers on your previous plots, you'll be able to use the redeeming queue to claim everything back and start over.
Mainframe has published the full patch notes, and It's worth taking a look if you need to get reoriented and understand all of the changes that the team made with this giant update. Biomes get a number of changes, and they've all been redistributed. They want to make home valleys and wildlands more distinct from each other, but to also create a more logical progression, so all home valleys will host the same three base biomes and two varied Advanced biomes. The Corrupted Plains is a new, demonic-inspired biome.
The update is so big, but in addition to adding the Journal, and providing new building piece variants, new biomes, and redistributed biomes, It's also setting the stage for progression updates and improvements as the team gets further into development on the Early Access build.
Now that Proving Grounds is live, the team has already begun work on the next update and we'll learn more about that soon.
