Pax Dei Wilderness Alpha Begins, With 100k+ Players, PvP, Crafting Changes, and More to Explore

After weeks of reveals, announcements, how-tos, and finally, more than 100k invites, the Pax Dei Wilderness Alpha is live.

Mainframe Industries opened the alpha today as promised, in two regions with three starting shards each. If you participated in the first alpha test, then you’re in this one too. The focus during the first test was on building and getting to know the world. Now, the focus has shifted to combat, PvP, and playing through the changes made since the last public test.

Of course, there’s a lot of building going on during this test too, as the team has some crafting changes and adjustments to building, as well as some new content. So anyone jumping in can explore the provinces, check out the different biomes and various resources in each area and lay down roots in a Home Valley.

Pick one that has the resources you anticipate needing available nearby and even consider proximity to dungeons or even to other provinces. Explore, gather resources, learn to craft, and start building, maybe set up a farm when you build your house. Or, maybe head over to Lyonesse and start PvPing.

That province is the only place you can't build or claim any plots in it because it is a full PVP zone. Step inside and all bets are off–you’re automatically vulnerable to attack. For this alpha, you can find Pure iron here, but eventually in the full release you can expect rare resources to be found in this province to make it a true high risk, high reward, zone.

The Wilderness Alpha is expected to run for one week, unless Mainframe announces any changes.

Pax Dei is, once again, accessible for those who want to help shape the eventual release. Mainframe even has a preparation guide for anyone who hasn’t already hit the ground running.
