The Pax Dei team continues to field questions about alpha, and while that’s still some time off, they’ve released a short new preview of character creation options.
As shared on the game’s official Discord, Mainframe Industries is still working on getting the game’s alpha build into shape.
“As our dedicated dev team diligently works on refining (and debugging) the Alpha build (yes, it means that now, the answer to “Alpha when?” is “sooner than before too long”), we're excited to offer you a sneak peek at the character creation process.”
There are a few points to digest here, including that alpha is sooner than it was, although the team is clearly not yet ready to speak on a launch window. Still, they've been releasing more info recently, including on combat, PvP, and more just last week. This latest tease takes us a little bit into what we can expect when it comes time to dive in and create a character.
We see a number of hair styles, facial hair, body size sliders, makeup, and more. From there, there are options to do things like add freckles, adjust the intensity of colors, and eyeshadow. A number of the characters have facial tattoos or other markings. Both male and female characters are included in the brief video. It’s just a taste for now, and the team is emphasizing this is just the beginning.
They note in the announcement that this is still an alpha build and they are planning to add a number of additional options and sliders as they continue to build out Pax Dei. That said, if there’s a feature you really would love to see that isn’t yet in these menus, the team will surely be open for feedback from the community.
