Pax Dei Team Fixes Some More Errors, Shares New Update on Mistakes Made Addressing Login Issues

Given the issues that the Pax Dei team has been working to address since the game went into Early Access earlier this month, their new update probably isn't too surprising. Their ongoing “Stories from the War Room”, Mainstream is now sharing details on “ The DNS Debacle” along with today’s new patch.

After some days without major issues and improvements going on,  the technical issues began rearing their heads on Monday. Players were getting disconnected and many were unable to log in. As the team went to try and diagnose what was going on with the logins, the issue grew. During the diagnostic process, they noticed the authentication system had a bunch of errors and decided to restart it.

“In hindsight, this was a mistake,” they acknowledge. The rest of the tale goes into just why this was a mistake, with Mainframe bringing the system back up only to be overwhelmed and go offline, while another issue happened. As for the title, the DNS was the key to everything, with the team eventually noticing that they had a missing DNS record that had been deleted by mistake. They recreated that record, but there was still more work to be done.

You can read the full update for all of the details of how they got everything up and running again. Yet, it is an important  bit of transparency, especially when Early Access launch has admittedly been rough in a number of ways. Today brings a brand new patch that addresses a number of varied issues.

Today's patch fixed a number of crash issues, improve the NPC spawning fix that they had previously implemented and fixed another issue with containers becoming inaccessible. They also fixed some Clan related errors and another issue where players unable to log in had the launcher stuck in a loop.

Mainframe will continue addressing the issues that have been reported. And they’re surely going to be very careful when deleting files from now on.
