Pax Dei Shares Big End-Of-February Q&A About Housing, Travel, and More

Throughout the early access stage so far, Pax Dei’s developers have been eager to share progress and updates. This continues with their latest Q&A post, which goes over a broad scope of questions about the game’s features. The team goes over a lot of frequent questions, it seems, from their social media and the official Discord community, so we’ll just hit some of the bigger notes.

For one, the team won’t be doing more provinces in the future, though they say they have concepts if they ever get the time for expansion. However, forest atmospheres will eventually be coming back. As for lore, they’re “developing a system to bring more lore and mysteries to the world of Pax Dei,” but the details aren’t quite ready yet.

Mainframe Industries “absolutely want to bring” fishing and farming into the game, but they’re “focusing on bigger core systems” for the time being.

Mounts are being played around with right now, with the challenge lying more in how to integrate them into the world between direct interactions and the technical challenges of transitioning between zones, given the game’s technical heft already. Meanwhile, fast travel will begin with their Graces and Miracles system, announced earlier this year.

The Pax Dei housing system sees a few more major discussions here. For example, they’re aware of and fixing a few issues, such as trees growing through foundations and the hole in the center of plots when you combine them. Also, there’s a stone set coming with the next major update, some new foundations are coming to the next minor update, and they’re working on recycling.

As for monetization, the team says they’re “finalizing some systems,” but those with the Founder’s Pack won’t be charged to buy it again when it goes into a full release. We already know there’ll be a subscription fee per plot to find and maintain those plots, but it sounds like there’ll also be some sort of entry fee into the game, as the early acces already has.

There’s still quite a bit more not covered here, so it’s definitely worth looking at the full news blog to see what they talked about. In the meantime, they’ve also covered the compass feature coming to the game, so you don’t have to rely on the sun anymore (or whatever you were doing before).
