The Pax Dei team knows that the community is wondering when they’ll be putting out another content update, and we have an answer. Sort of. It should be pretty soon though, and Mainframe is telling a bit of what they've been working on.
Since Pax Dei went into Early Access, hhey've had to do a lot of work on progress but also shore up server stability, fix bugs, correct certain issues, and learn lessons from all of that to strengthen the game going forward. “Was the Early Access released too early? Maybe, although, as we stated, this is Early Access in a very real sense of the term."
In the latest update via the game's official Discord, Mainframe says they've released more than 10 patches and fixes over the past two months alone to fix and improve the game.
They don't feel confident enough just yet to commit to a date, so what we have is “autumn”. Yes, they acknowledge that is vague, but we’re almost in autumn. Stay tuned. Still, they're hard at work on the next content update and are aiming to release another content around the beginning of next year.
The list includes combat improvements, including improved responsiveness, hit detection, adding the ability to cancel attacks and spell casting. they're also working on a rework of the early PVE experience to improve enemy camps, make them more accessible and offer some better readability.
The Inquisition, Cultists, and Lost Souls enemy factions are also getting reworked to make them more unique and give them their own character. A related development is work on lore. “The world of Pax Dei has a history that waits to be unveiled. It is coming.”
They're looking to enhance and add to the crafting system, add a journal to keep track of recipes, and additional quality of life improvements and rebalancing to crafting.
Speaking of quality of life improvements, we can also expect things (in this update or a future one) like a compass, new emotes, new building pieces, signs, and Systems that enable one button woodcutting and Mining and recycling system for crafts. Ninja looting prevention is also happening.
We can look forward to more details and a confirmed launch date for that autumn update.
