Pax Dei is refining their Discord chat integration and have responded directly to player feedback in their latest Discord announcement. Mainframe Industries addressed several concerns, with updates on privacy, customization, and data clarity.
If you've been playing Pax Dei for a while you may be aware that Discord integration for chat has been an ongoing feature the team has been working on. Those worried about privacy related to their Discord information will be happy to learn that the team is considering an “anonymous mode” to separate in-game and Discord identities, while keeping the feature optional for those who prefer traditional in-game chat.
That also means if you choose not to link your Discord account at all, things should act as you'd expect with regular in-game chat. The team also said they'll introduce a new General Chat Filter Settings which should allow better control over direct messages and chat visibility so you can select only what you want to see in your general chat window.
Players seeking clearer boundaries between friends' lists will be glad to hear that in-game and Discord lists are being developed. Essentially keeping those lists however you'd like is the goal here, but it's not something the team has figured out just yet. Mainframe Industries has also stated that transparency remains a priority, so players who want to integrate Discord should soon see a tooltip detailing exactly what data is being shared and with whom. It's certainly something that everyone should be aware of before they integrate their Discord information—and now it just might be.
The team has recently stated that lots of changes are on the way, including the addition of a Marketplace where players will be able to finally hock their wares to the public at large.
Overally the Early Access of Pax Dei shows that the team is listening closely to feedback, and the upcoming changes to Discord integration and the Markeplace addition is certainly a step in the right direction.
