Path of Exile Introduces Kirac's Vault, a New Battle Pass System For Unique Skins

Kirac’s Vault is Grinding Gear Games’ take on a battle pass type system for Path of Exile. The new buyable pass will work alongside the existing free challenge system and is for those who want a little more flair as they go through their adventures.

The pass is available for PC now (with consoles eventually on board) for $30 and you can earn eight special skins that provide an alternate appearance for some popular in game weapons and items. The skins are completely cosmetic and simply give you extra effects. As you are playing through Siege of the Atlas,  you might have already completed certain objectives that would unlock the Skins you can get through the battle pass.  You can buy the pass up until the end of the season so if you've already completed certain objectives by the time you buy the pass they will automatically unlocked for you.  since you will need to obtain the Uniques these skins work with, as the pass won’t give you the weapons since it’s all cosmetic, this might be a reason to hold off for a little while.

This is a system that will work alongside the existing free rewards system that Siege of the Atlas is currently running. There's a progress bar that will track how many bonus objectives that you complete and once you complete an objective for one of the skins you can travel to Kirac’s Vault and claim it.

The skins you can unlock may sometimes look fierce, but they won’t provide combat or gameplay advantages. If you complete 84 map bonus objectives, for example, you’ll unlock the Titan’s Mjölner skin, which will send a bolt of lightning after enemies after you strike them. The skin for the Bloodthirsty Headhunter will make your enemies’ heads explode as you steal their abilities. It’s all just cool effects though, even if these effects make your attacks look more brutal.
