Path of Exile: Crucible is Now Live on Console

Path of Exile has launched its new Crucible expansion content on all platforms, with today's release on consoles.

Arriving with the big update, which we previewed here, is a brand new season, The Crucible Challenge League. With a new update, a new season, and a fresh start, this is a great time to jump in, learn a little bit more about the ancient titans whose impact is still felt today, use their technology that you can find all over Wraeclast, and challenge some enemies by choosing a weapon and channeling the power of the titans.

Do that, and you’ll spawn a new encounter, one where you'll be able to control the difficulty, and timing. Keep channeling, slay more enemies, and the enemies may begin to merge into tougher ones. This will give you some leeway in how long and how difficult the encounters are, and of course, more risk means more rewards.

In the Crucible challenge league there are 40 new challenges, and eight new challenges added for Ruthless Crucible. You have a choice because there are Standard, Hardcore, Solo Self-Found and Ruthless variations of the challenge league.

There are a number of features to thai new season, including the ability to add passive skill trees to your weapons. Find the new Crucible Forges and you’ll be able to unlock a tree on your weapon. You’ll have to choice just one skill from each tier, but you can progress through the skill trees. Time for some decisions to make.

Also added in Crucible are new Unique items, new skill and support gems, new divination cards that have been designed by Path of  Exile supporters, and a few quality of life tweaks. One of those helpful changes is that items will persist in the vendors’ shops for a few levels, giving you more of a chance to grab them before they disappear. When you level up, some items will be replaced.
