The highly-anticipated Early Access launch of Path of Exile 2 finally arrives this week, and players are wanting to hop in sooner than later. To accommodate any eager jump-starters, Grinding Gear Games has announced the details for pre-downloads, allowing Early Access players to be unhampered by download and installation times before they hop in.
Anyone who has the standalone PC client will be able to download the game itself on December 5 at 5 p.m. PST. It’ll be available through the website, as well as through a torrent that contains the game launcher.
That’s approximately 18 hours before the actual launch at 11 a.m. PST, which is when players will actually be able to log in. However, once the launch goes live, there still may be updates that need to be taken care of, so be aware of that possibility.

For players on Xbox platforms, the pre-download should already be available. Like the PC version, the team states that there “will likely be updates on launch,” so keep an eye out for that closer to the launch time.
As for Playstation players, the pre-downloads should go live for those who got the Founder’s pack about 24 hours before the launch. It’s unknown for now if anyone with other types of keys will be able to do that pre-download.
There’s also no news on the Steam nor Epic launch pre-downloads for the moment, but we’ll update if anything comes out on that front. Steam and Epic launchers tend to permit pre-downloading, so there’s a possibility that it happens for these platforms.
