Path of Exile 2 is approaching its Early Access launch, but it seems both it and its original predecessor will be seeing delays in their content.
A few days ago, the Path of Exile 2 team announced that the Early Access would be delayed another three weeks; this is one more jump from the original early 2024 delay, albeit far smaller than a half-year leap.
In a brief video, Game Director Jonathan Rogers explained the delays, this time attributable to “a bunch of server-side infrastructure work that has taken us a lot longer than we expected,” including ensuring PoE1 accounts can cross over into PoE2, as well as ensuring server stability for the initial launch population.

Subsequently, a few days later, on Halloween, the team announced that patch 3.26 would be delayed to 2025, attributing the shift to a focus on PoE2.
“Despite the delay, launching Path of Exile 2 in Early Access this year is a very important milestone for us and we've been working very hard to make it happen,” the community team shared in a forum post. “After many days of internal discussions, we made the decision to not launch the 3.26 expansion for Path of Exile 1 this year. We’re looking to announce this new league in early 2025 (think late January) however we have to remain flexible with this window as releasing an entirely new project can come with challenges that we cannot predict.”
In lieu of the update, the Settlers of Kalguur League will have an event that lets players re-progress with new modifications for all monsters in each map; however, these mods give drop perks, and the mods are manipulable. Upon reaching level 50, players will get one guaranteed Settlers Mystery box, normally available as a microtransaction, per account.
It seems much of the team for these two games are overlapping, and it sounds like resources for one are overlapping with the other, which is especially reinforced by some of the language in this update. Still, players who have been waiting a while for either update to happen may be disappointed by both pieces of news.
