During the keynote at ExileCon 2019 in New Zealand, Grinding Gear Games dropped a bombshell, revealing Path of Exile 2. The new campaign will be supported alongside the original Path of Exile, and players worried that the expansions and updates that have made Path great will be lost with PoE 2 can rest assured - those will all be carried over to the new version when it launches.
Still a ways out, Path of Exile 2 will bring major changes to the ARPG, such as new classes, item and gem changes and more. Leagues and content released with the original Path of Exile will carry over with Path of Exile 2, and even the original game will be continually updated alongside the new version. Path of Exile 2 will also bring with it one of the more requested features from players: Shapshifting.
While the campaign and the new skill system will be added on launch day, some of the quality of life improvements and new mechanics will find themselves added to the game over the course of the next year while the 3.9 and beyond updates hit Path of Exile moving forward.
ExileCon is in full swing here in Auckland, New Zealand, and you can catch all the announcements and excitement via the livestream, which we've embedded below. We'll be able to go hands on with Path of Exile 2 and will be sure to let you know how it is over the weekend!
