Final Fantasy 14 posted the patch notes for its upcoming update, Death Unto Dawn, today. The patch notes set the stage for next week's 5.5 update coming to the MMO alongside the anticipated PS5 beta.

The patch notes give players a more indepth look at what to expect with next week's patch, including listing the new main scenario quests to expect with Death Unto Dawn. Additionally, the notes detail what we know a bit already with Patch 5.5 will be bringing with it a host of quality of life changes to the MMO, such as changes to how acheivement rewards and rules changes impacting Triple Triad.

The patch notes also list the new trial being added, The Cloud Deck, as well as the new continuation of the YoRHa Neir-flavored cross over event quests. New furninshing for houses in FFXIV are also being added with this patch, giving home decorators more ideas to make their homes the best in the neighborhood.

Patch 5.5 also coincides with the launch of Final Fantsy 14 on PS5 in Open Beta. The team has detailed how players can jump into the updated version and upgrade from their existing PlayStation 4 versions. The PlayStation 5 version brings improved loading times, 4K resolution and higher framerates over the PS4 counterpart.

You can check out the full extensive patch notes to see what is in store more fully when Final Fnatasy 14 patch 5.5 Death Unto Dawn launches next week on April 13th. Also, in case you missed it, FFXIV is currently dealing with a raptor problem in that they are quite invincible. Earlier this month it was also announced the MMORPG has hit 22 million registered users across its platforms.
