Paramount and Saber Interactive are giving fans of Nickelodeon’s iconic animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra a new game to (hopefully) look forward to.
The upcoming action RPG set in the Avatar Legends universe will feature a new, never before seen Avatar. Developed for both PC and consoles in collaboration with Avatar Studios, the title will bring players a brand new story set thousands of years before the events of the animated series and allow players to master all four elements, do battle alongside companions, and make all manner of impactful decisions on the fate of the world.
Games set in the Avatar universe don’t have the greatest track record, including last year’s co-op game Avatar: The Last Airbender – Quest for Balance, but perhaps things will be different this time around. After all, the game is being developed by Saber Interactive, a studio with a solid resume of titles under its belt, including World War Z, and most recently, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which quickly broke the record for most concurrent users on a Warhammer 40K game on Steam shortly after its release.
There are even more Avatar games in the pipeline, too. Back in February, publisher Maximum Games announced it had a fighting game set in the Avatar series in the works.
