After nearly a decade of development, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen hit a public Early Access phase two months ago, and the studio behind it seems positive about the ongoing development. In its February update, Visionary Realms talked about its upcoming content, plus announced it’s given its team a small bump in size.
Visionary Realms was able to bring some contracted staff back onto the team to help out with the ramped-up contract. This month, they brought back two of the creative team, plus a fresh game designer, and gods know that in this state of game dev, any staff to help a studio is good tidings for all sides.
The blog goes over the content that VR is honed in on via their pipeline. While the list is technically in no particular order, the new Druid class is put up top, as it’s “next up to be added to Terminus and is scheduled for release in the coming weeks.” The team is working on class kits up to level 40, plus more content for Silent Plains, Wildblood camps, and extra quests and dialogue for Wild’s End to make it “more appealing for low level players.”
PvP also appears to be on the horizon, as the team states they’ll be “adding special ruleset servers for a raw PvP experience.” Visionary Realms said Pantheon will be primarily PvE in the past, but also that it’s hard to deny the appeal some have found about PvP servers.
Beyond the looks into the future, the post recaps a bit of the goings-on this month. Pantheon finally got the Unity 6 update that brought some subtle but effective visual upgrades, and besides this big one, they’ve mostly been able to keep a monthly update cadence promised at the start of the year.
Recently, some players accused the team of favoritism as boss spawn camping was discovered, which prompted a quick response from the devs. However, with 100,000 sales of the Early Access game plus a Very Positive rating on Steam, it’s still generally positive news for the team in a time of skepticism over Early Access.
