In the video, creative director Chris Perkins outlines the major details of the new season, called “The Mouth of Madness.” The largest addition is a new overland dungeon called “Mad Run,” shown as an underground cave with spider webs and the usual fare of rocky terrain.
It’s designated as an area for players levels 20 and up, bringing up the difficulty of content for those who joined in Season 1. There’s also a new world boss, designated for those level 40 and up.
The video also previews some drastic lighting rendering changes. These previews are promising, with the before-and-afters going from flatter lighting to a sharper, more stunning contrast.
The new season of Pantheon starts today and extends until May 10th, with a progression of access similar to that of Season 1. VIP backers can enter now; Champion-tier backers will have access on April 27th, and Supporter-tier users can join May 4th until the end.
