Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s latest newsletter is out, and the team is starting to talk more about Season 3: Land of Blood and Snow, while also reflecting on how Season 2 is going.
Creative Director Chris Perkins and CM Jamie Henry also held the latest community Q&A with a talk on the current season and a bit of what’s coming. We covered this Q&A separately after it happened, but it’s a full hour long discussion that is worth tuning into. Season 2: The Mouth of Madness is still going, and opened up a new area of Avendyr’s Pass; Mad Run. For those who aren’t big fans of spiders, this is not going to be your favorite place to level, since this area is a darker section with webs and dread.
One of the other major additions for the season was the major lighting overhaul that helped polish up lighting across the entire game, and the monthly recap also showed off a video demonstrating the changes, while also reminding us that the NDA is gone.
During these seasons, content is level capped so everyone stays in the same general area. The high level area that was added in season 2 is for 17 to 24 but also features a level 40 open world raid boss that you can take your chances on with the right group. VIP players have been in since day one, but Champion level will join on on Saturday, April 27th and finally, the last week will let Supporter-level players in on May 4th.
We also get a peek into Season 3, which opens for VIPs May 11th. Prepare for the Frigid Climate, a new climate that will arrive alongside the new Acclimation system. Extreme cold is coming, and the new system will help you survive in it. With the cold environments we'll also get to welcome the North Tusk Orcs to Pantheon, a new major NPC type. Not only will you meet the orcs, you'll get to learn something about work culture, how they fight in combat and more.
In order to prepare for the release of season 3, the team has been working on the Orcs to make sure everything about their abilities, their culture, and placement is ready to enhance the experience for players when they get into the new area. the team is also working on updating current classes and balance changes for what's already out there.
As for the future future, beyond season 3, they are planning to add the Summoner and Ranger classes, Halnir Cave, which they’re in pre-production on, and much more.
The full letter has much more detail on these preparations and what else the current season has taught the team.
