The Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen team is Issuing some warnings about exploits during Early Access as well as how they are handling some of these potential game-breaking bugs.
Sharing a new post via Discord, Visionary Realms is reminding all testers that taking advantage of discovered exploits is prohibited. Devs know that sometimes you gain from a bug unexpectedly and, hopefully, that you report it afterwards. The focus, then, of this reminder and warning is for those who deliberately take advantage of a bug that they found, or that was already found by others in order to get ahead somehow.
“We would like to limit character wipes during Early Access”, they write. “In order to do this, a firm stance will be taken against exploits that alter the economy or gameplay experience.” If they find that a tester has exploited specific bugs for personal gain, particularly if those are of those types that do impact the whole server, that person may have their character deleted or their account suspended.
It's not certain whether or not these warnings came from specific incidents or how many there might have been. This is a paid Early Access, and the in-game economy, especially since players have an impact on it and the game is still under active development, is clearly enough of a concern to take this stance. While these policies are similar to many MMORPGs, the fact that this is Early Access and Pantheon is in development, there's always a risk of a potential wipe. Visionary Realms is clarifying policies in the hopes of minimizing the potential disruption.
