Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has a recap of the December pre-alpha pledge playtest sessions.

While there were some initial issues, the team fixed them and players were able to spend 24-hour sessions in Terminus checking out what is coming in Pantheon. When they got the servers stable, they gave people an additional session, so some got two full days to explore.

The Visionary Realms team shared some stats from the entire experience. A total of 294,790 NPC corpses were looted during testing. For all testers, they spent a cumulative 7 years, 269 days, 16 hours, 2 minutes, and 8 seconds in game, with an average playtime for all accounts averaging over 25 hours. One account spent over 41 hours out of an allotted 48 hours in game. Part of that time likely contributed to the over 61,000 quests that everyone completed. these are fun stats, but it does seem that the team is  preparing to continue more in-depth testing and figuring out what mechanics work the best.

Feedback showed that people had more fun when grouping to tackle the content than when they were playing solo, which the team calls within a certain sweet spot for a “community-centric MMORPG”. One of the player quotes they featured touched on grouping, saying, “Grouping with strangers and exploring to see if we could find something no one else has seen. It was awesome. The world was beautiful even with the lack of finishing details it was more then enough to be enjoyable.”

If you haven’t set foot into Terminus, then there’s also a warning about the Tyrannical Chicken, referred to as the “newbie player menace”.

The team is planning more pre-alpha and alpha pledge sessions to come. Read the full December recap here.
