On June 20th, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen devs Chris “Joppa” Perkins and Jamie “Savanja” Henry held a community Q&A to highlight player questions and preview the upcoming Ranger and Summoner classes. The event was held on Discord, and questions were taken and answered in real time.
For the Ranger class, you won’t have the traditional MMORPG privilege of unlimited arrow-slinging. Pantheon is taking a finite arrow approach to the class, but it will have a foraging system, most likely called “flatching,” permitting players to look around for more materials for arrow-making. It’ll be limited to Rangers for now, but letting crafters make other types isn’t out of the question for now.
Also, Summoners will have their own pet system, separate from Necromancers, and both classes will be very different, with Necromancers being more utility-based. Plus, they’ll be able to set the “stance” of their pets based on what combat situation they find themselves in.
In addition to some Ranger and Summoner overview information, the devs get into factions, NPC viability within factions, upcoming races, the naming of “seasons,” and more. Plus, they note that their VIP players, the highest-paying players who have nonstop access to Pantheon, are a bit “bossy,” but they’re understanding and appreciative for the feedback.
While the chat was held on Discord, a full recording is up on YouTube now.
