Palworld developer Pocketpair is taking no chances with losing the momentum of the game's meteoric rise from meme game to one of the most played games in Steam’s history. Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe shared a screenshot of the game’s monthly server costs on X/Twitter, which amount to roughly $500K USD right now. Ouch.
That’s about six million dollars a year spent just on keeping the game servers live. Palworld’s network engineer Chujo Hiroto replied to Mizobe’s post alluding to the reasoning behind the eye watering server costs is PocketPair’s commitment to “never let the service go down no matter what.”
Following the order to never let the service go down no matter what, we have prepared servers without regard to cost. We will continue to give our all to ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest!$478,000...

Retaining players as a live service game is challenging as ever, with so much competition, it’s no wonder that Palworld is taking such an aggressive approach to keeping players’ time in the game uninterrupted.
Thankfully, the developer has a lot in store for the game’s future, including PvP both between players and Pal vs. Pal PvP (Pal Arena), raid bosses, cross-play between Steam and Xbox platforms, the ability to transfer servers, new islands, Pals, and more.
Palworld is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass and Windows PC.
