Palworld Counts 19 Million Players Since Its Early Access Launch Across Steam And Xbox

That's a lot of players

Palworld just keeps chugging along with its successes, and Pocket Pair is now showcasing just how many players have hopped into the creature collecting game since launch.

We knew that Palworld sold over 8 million copies within 6 days, though there wasn't much of a platform breakdown there to showcase where the player counts were coming from. Given that Palworld launched on both PC via Steam and Xbox, as well as Xbox Game Pass, there was a question of just how many players were actually on each platform.

Well, apparently, Pocket Pair heard this and released a new figure on social media, with a gargantuan new number to boot. Palworld has now claimed over 19 million players since its launch across both platforms, with 12 million alone coming from Steam. Given that it's only available for purchase on Steam, that's quite a few copies sold through.

Seven million players hail from Xbox, though it's unclear whether this also includes those using Xbox's Game Pass Ultimate on PC, where Palworld is also available to download.

Still, 19 million players in less than a month is an insane number for a game that is still in Early Access. While no doubt part of the draw is the familiar creature collection aspect clearly inspired by Pokemon, Palworld is much more than just that, with deep survival mechanics and building, among others. It helps too that Palworld isn't priced as a full-priced game, instead clocking in at just $30, and for a while there it was even on sale to celebrate the launch.

Suffice to say, Palworld is here to stay and it'll be interesting to see whether it can sustain this momentum throughout 2024 or if it'll start to drop off as more games release this year. If you haven't had a chance to jump into Palworld just yet, be sure to check out our Palworld Early Access Review to find out if it's worth your time.
