The Palia team has a wrapup on their first big event since open beta began in August, Maji Market, along with a patch with new outfits, economic changes, and a whole new marketplace.
Maji Market began August 29th and wrapped up yesterday, September 26th, so the first big event ran for more than a month. A blog featuring community screenshots shows off food, feasts, some of the custom furnishings, and even in-game plushies of some of the animals. There are also some of the games, photo op setups, and fireworks. While this was the first big event, it will return if you missed Maji Market the first time around.
The latest patch has officially closed out the event and the team is looking forward into October with change on their minds.
Zeki’s Black Market has gotten an overhaul to be more practical and more of a welcoming gathering space. Emphasis is on the space to socialize but also for key NPCs Reth and Zeki, who each get improved spaces. Reth gets a bar to work at while he’s visiting and Zeki has a second Wondrous Machine. Expect more additions here.
There are some additional changes in the patch. you can now have running water in your home, and you can also now destroy crops. Also some practical changes like making sure your crops will continue to grow even if you don't check in on them every day that passes in game while you're online, and some UI tweaks for housing.
The team has also made a major adjustment for the sake of the economy. Players found that making Celebration Cakes were the fastest way to rake in some gold. Of course, it dominated, so the selling price of this item has been nerfed for the sake of the economy. Players were actually taking their cakes to the Glow Worm Farm to add even more value, so there's also a change to worm farms.
If you’re not playing Palia, cakes and worms as a gold racket may sound pretty odd, but the cozy farming sim features much to discover and to do.
The patch also adds several new premium outfit bundles and pieces to the shop, in line with the recent discussions on cosmetic bundle pricing.
