Palia has added regional servers for European players in its new update, which also sees the game arrive on the Epic Games Store.
The latest update adds new features, adjusts the wardrobe, adds more spooky costume options, and more. The most prominent new feature for many players just might be the addition of those European servers. This is the first of many upcoming steps that the team at Singularity 6 plans to take in order to become a multi-region and fully multi-platform game as the team prepares for the Nintendo Switch launch this holiday season. The Epic Games Store availability is part of this too, offering more ways to meet players where they are.
When it comes to servers, the automatic matchmaking system will place you in the best region possible when you log in, Palia is designed to let you play with your friends across regions, If you have friends in another region, you can choose to invite them to your server and override the default matchmaking or even form a party. In general though, when you log in, the matchmaking is intended to put you in the place where you'll have the least latency.
In starting to build out regional servers, info like friends lists and the ability to link up with friends and chat with them is not going to be separated by regions, to make making and keeping friends within Palia easy.
The update also adds three new premium outfit bundles and fixes a number of bugs. The devs promise more in-depth updates are on the way, but this is more about expanding access this time around.
