Palia has a new update that adds level 5 friendship quests for several villagers, new housing and decor items, and an all-new Building Blocks system that will transform housing.

Now there are level five friendship quests for Jina, Hekla, and Einar. If you’ve already reached level four friendship, these are open to you and completion will grant a decor item.

Housing in Palia has always been a way to express yourself, what you love, show off things you’ve acquired, and to share with friends. The team has added new features before, including outdoor decor and using plants and trees as decor items, but this update shakes things up in housing. Take the Grand Harvest House. Or, rather, unlock it by buying the blueprints from the City Hall Store. Purchase the blueprints and you can create this new house, which features a second story, a spiral staircase, and a front porch. Can't add any other additions to the Second Story just yet, but this may become available in the future. You can have a Harvest House and a Grand Harvest House but you can’t connect them.

Not only does patch 0.180 add the Grand Harvest House to unlock, the new Building Blocks system is here. Building Blocks add flexibility to how you can use your housing plots. you can use different shapes to build structures, and create different configurations. Maybe you wanted to build up or out in a certain way or maximize the use of your space, now there are more options. The Palia team aims to release more styles in the future.

The promised pavers are now available, with options like the Wood Slab Paver, Terracotta Paver, and Square Concrete Paver just a few of the items you can use to create paths and walkways on your plots.

Also in the update are new books to use as decor items, plushies dropping from Muujin and other insects, some new insect plushies, and more recipes. A few fixes and quality of life changes are also here, including chat bubbles, which you can toggle on or off and, when in use, will show messages over players’ heads.
