Pagan Online has been updated with the first of a series of major patches based on player feedback. It comes with some game-altering changes that have necessitated the wiping of all player progress to date. However, all players will be compensated for the wipe. This includes the unlocking of three starter heroes on all accounts. Players will also receive a Hero Soul and 150 shards for each heros (1200 shards). Players will not have to replay the tutorial when first logging in.
However, the unintended and unfortunate consequence of these changes is the wiping of player progress. Big systemic changes like these have both serious and sometimes hard to predict consequences on players’ save games. After testing, in order to avoid the individual mayhem that these changes would introduce (such as the permanent corruption of the save file), we’ve opted for the safe option for all players.
Here are some of the changes in today's update:
- The Hero Ability Tree has been added to allow players to customize their heroes. It is a first iteration with a basic UI and probable balance issues that will be worked out over time and based on feedback.
- Hero Balance has received a pass and every hero has been given two new abilities.
- Evasion and Chance to Dodge have been removed.
- Critical Damage Bonuses are now included.
- Critical Damage Reduction and Critical Damage Reduction Bonus have been added.
- New bonuses to Shields, Astral Shiels, Max Resists have been added.
- Item changes and base weapon value have been rebalanced.
- "Crafting is going to be less of an obligatory factor".
- Craftsman Levels have been removed.
- Enemies and drops have been rebalanced.
- Act VI is now included.
- UI and QoL improvements
