Blizzard has decided to get rid of the paywall necessary to unlock certain Heroes in Overwatch 2 via the Battlepass, which is kind of a big deal.
Blizzard has decided that in Season 10 of Overwatch 2, the purchase of the Battlepass will no longer be necessary to unlock the new and old Heroes on the roster. As they introduce the new Hero, Venture, in Season 10, players can go in knowing they won't have to follow along with the Battlepass to bag themselves the new Archeologist.
The new season won't go live until April 9, 2024, the other interesting thing is players will no longer need to get to level 45 in order to enjoy new Heroes either. Once the season begins, all of the available Heroes on the roster will unlock for free. That would mean that the challenges to earn the previous Heroes will be going away as well.
More so, how players unlock Mythic skins will be changing, with one new feature fans are sure to like. Any Mythic skin that was previously exclusive to a certain season will now be purchasable on the in-game store. Whether or not you will be able to unlock Mythic skins without spending real-life money has yet to be specified, as the devs only state that they will release more information on this topic as Season 10 draws closer.
