Over 4000 EVE Online Players Clashed Overnight In X47L-Q; Over A Trillion ISK Lost In 14 Hours

Another massive battle has raged in EVE Online, this time lasting fourteen hours and saw over four thousand pilots clash. The battlefield at X47L-Q saw a massive battle a few weeks ago, and things heated up once again overnight, with over a trillion ISK worth of ships destroyed in its wake.

The battle saw the Imperium and B2 forces battle against Fraternity, PanFam and Winter Coalition over a Keepstar in the system. Both sides lost an incredible amount of ships during the course of the battle, with a combined 3610 ships destroyed during the engagement, according to the EVE Battle Report.

The fighting erupted around 1am Eastern Time this morning and raged for fourteen hours, with the two sides broadcasting their perspectives of the clash. The battle itself was marred by server issues, which feels typical for EVE Online which finds itself in a perpetual arms race with its players as battles get more and more complex and more extensive, the servers need to keep up.

The system itself experienced Time Dilation, or TiDi as it's called by Capsuleers, which slows down everything in the system based on the number of pilots in local. This effect makes it easier for the server to handle the incredible loads and strains put on it by these large engagements, though even then players encountered issues trying to enter the system or login to do battle.

As always with EVE players, the memes during the battle being shared on Reddit were excellent, with players poking fun at the fighting itself, the TiDi in the system, and each other in the aftermath. The aftermath of the battle saw the Imperium and B2 forces reinforce the Armor timer, which pushes the structure onto its final Hull Timer - so we can expect to see another massive battle here in the very near future to determine the ultimate fate of the Keepstar in the system.
