Mike Hutchins, another member of the original EverQuest team, has sadly passed away.

The news was shared via John Smedley (former president of Daybreak Game Company, formerly Sony Online Entertainment) on his Twitter account yesterday afternoon citing heart failure as the cause of death,

"I'm sad to report another member of the original Everquest team, the incredible Mike Hutchins has passed away from heart failure. Hutch was a great all around human being and a lot of fun to work with. He will be missed!!!"

The news comes just a few months after we learned of another original EverQuest member, Brad McQuaid, passing away in November. Several people on Twitter responded to John Smedley's tweet about Mike's passing, paying their respects to the former EverQuest team member.

Wrote one user,

"A great guy. He was a great coworker, friend, Irontoe Brigade member and D&D adventurer. Remember him in the grand and cavernous halls of Neriak."

Anoter user chimed in, recalling that they knew these developers after spending time playing with the original members in the early days of the game,

"Sorry to hear that :/ I knew a lot of those early guys (like Brad) when we played together on Sojourn/TorilMUD, though Brad was the only one whose first name I knew or can remember."

We here at MMORPG.com pass along our condolences to Mike's family and the community.
