Open Critic has announced some changes to review displays on games to further facilitate finding the best games out there according to both user and editorial reviews. The new graphs give a visual representation of the distribution of any title scored on OpenCritic and indicates where in the spectrum of all reviews it falls. Rather than simply assign a highly relative numerical score, ranking a title gives a player a better perspective on any game's overall reception.
We've also started testing the waters with our new "recommended percentages" feature, and will be watching how discussions around this evolve. This feature displays the percentage of critics that have clearly recommended the game. In the long run, we'd like to move more towards recommendations and away from scores, and we feel that this is an important first step.
