NetEase and Starry Studio’s survival MMO Once Human isn’t doing too hot after an update broke a number of items and in-game bases. The update, released on July 18, was deployed in order to squash a variety of bugs but ended up ruining bases and items for many players. This latest situation is just one of many that has plagued the title since its launch.
To make matters worse, Starry Studio had just asked its players to leave positive Steam reviews for the game in an effort to improve its ‘Mixed’ rating on the platform. Unsurprisingly, this requested has been deleted given everything going on.
The developers have issued an apology via the game’s Discord server and made assurances that these issues would be addressed to players’ satisfaction with compensation and item replacements to be issued through the game’s in-game mail system.
Despite all the issues the game has experienced in the two weeks or so since its launch, it’s still managed to chart an all time peak concurrency record of 231K and is sitting at a healthy 123K at the time of this writing. Even the Steam reviews in question sit at nearly 70% positive. Hopefully the game’s future is a bit less bumpy so that players can enjoy the game without as much frustration.
