Once Human Unveils Major Updates: Lunar Oracle, Visional Wheel, and More Heading Into 2025

Starry Studio, the developers of post apocalyptic metahuman game Once Human. has shared an extensive series of updates detailing exciting new features and challenges headed to the game in early 2025. Players can look forward to the Lunar Oracle event and the debut of the Visional Wheel system, both set to bring fresh dimensions to gameplay.

Breakout game Once Human has a lot to look forward to right out of the gate for 2025. Starting in mid-January, the Lunar Oracle will blanket the world in a crimson moonlight, introducing a new mechanic called Lunacy. Lunacy is a state where players lose Sanity outside their territory, requiring combat to recover. Lunacy will enhance resource acquisition as a player's health decreases and it will even reveal hidden resources like Oracle Crates and deviated plants. It's more than just a mild shift in combat though, as deviants out in the wilderness will grow stronger and more aggressive to you and your settlements while the Lunar Oracle is active. 

Players will also be able to obtain Oracle Crates, which are unlockable with a currency called Moon Whispers earned during the event. Within these crates, you'll earn powerful rewards such as Lunar-themed mods, exclusive animal skins, and new formulas to help you grow, look cooler, and survive longer. The Lunar Oracle will also introduce tougher survival challenges that could pit you against enhanced Deviant, or even dangerous environmental changes.

The team also unveiled the Visional Wheel, which will essentially warp reality, introducing unique anomalies to scenarios every 2-3 months. The first cycle will start in January as part of the Lunar Oracle, and players will see the changes affecting game modes like Manibus and Prismverse's Clash over the three month cycle.

Rewards for Visional Scenarios include exclusive mods and Deviations, with events like the Crimson Moon Challenge offering Rubies for cosmetics and upgrades. For players seeking less intense experiences, standard scenarios remain accessible.

January’s update will also introduce a new character customization option which will let players change their genders, something that was offered via character creation, but this will extend the option for players looking to make some changes.
