Once Human’s latest update, 1.3.1 adds new animals to tame and a series of fixes for a number of issues, including those with animals. The team announced some temporary limits under increased demand, and a series of bug fixes.
The new patch added new tameable animals that you can add to livestock. There was a promo image featuring a bison, an adult and baby polar bear, foxes, including Arctic foxes, and a couple of turtles. These look like some of the additions that you can add and the polar bears and Arctic foxes do seem particularly well-themed for The Way of Winter and the game's new weather systems.
The Way of Winter is also getting some temporary adjustments to specializations due to Performance issues under increased load from both increased player numbers and the number of buildings. They're working on optimizations, but right now, the Stone Structures: Intense Defense and Building Master specializations remain unavailable. They’re offering some compensation for the issues, which should be in your mail.
After the 1.3.1 patch, there were some big issues involving animals that came to light and the team is in process of analyzing and working on. If animals wander too far from your character, or they are attacked by enemies or other units, sometimes they disappear. “This is due to our current game design. We're optimizing related mechanics and will release a solution in a future update,” they say. So if you've had incidents of animals mysteriously going poof, sending some bug reports and hopefully they will be able to restore things later.
There's another issue where it looks like animals are not eating or drinking. This is happening because there was a glitch that was causing them to get stuck. Resources were being appropriately drained, even if it didn't seem like they were. There's a temporary fix, with a permanent one on the way.
The Once Human team did address a number of other issues, with the complete list available here.
