Once Human gets an update that adds new content and optimizations, along with bug fixes. Of note, the update announcement also introduced a World Merge feature to address population concerns.
The survival crafting game’s team increased the drop rate for Morphed Deviations and added more ways to obtain them in the wilderness. Now, you’ll be able to find them when searching neutral securenet facilities and Have a better chance to obtain more in dungeon drops.
There are some event updates and optimizations, designed to improve public events in a few ways. There are new High Risk Public Crisis events, which have a chance to spawn from regular public crisis events when they refresh. If you encounter one of these high risk events, participation means the enemies will be stronger and the rewards will also be better. There’s also an adjustment to the Where Does Disco Go public crisis event that should let more people complete it. The Big Light Bulb fight gets rebalanced and the bulb itself has reduced HP.
World merges and territory relocation have officially come up. Once Human’s population can ebb and flow like any other live service game, and The team is responding to feedback about dropping player numbers when Scenarios end. Once Human is set to keep getting more Scenarios, which become available within seasons. The game launched with two of them, and promised new ones this month and in October.
With this update, they are officially addressing the population dips in order to work and keep a healthy enough population balance to keep social and co-op alive. World Merge, the feature, will merge worlds when a Scenario enters its Settlement Phase.
For those who still want to play with others, the worlds will merge, with some advance notice. If you get a notification that your world will merge, you'll have to move your territories to a safe world before that happens to avoid risking loss. Still, it’s good that they are shoring up the game this way.
