Once Human has hit more than 13 million pre-registrations so far, but the team is hoping to get more to declare their interest in the sci-fi open world survival game. A global pre-registration campaign is now up across all platforms.
With the campaign expanding to the global audience, it also reflects that it is now open across all platforms, including the most recent addition, iOS. The global pre-registration efforts began yesterday, and the team is offering a number of rewards for those who take them up on the offers, from weapon skins, exclusive furniture items, and the Dragon Fist Gloves, all available at launch. In order to unlock the gloves, however, everyone needs to hit the goal of 20 million pre-registrations. More pre-registration details, including rewards, are out.
The team is counting on word of mouth, which has been strong since Once Human showed off gameplay, its setting, and mechanics, followed by playtests. Demand for test access was so strong, the team had to initially limit participation via codes, before setting up support for an even bigger test next time.
The most recent closed beta test had over 200,000 players, and the game has now become the 12th most wishlisted game on Steam. NetEase is touting the success of the recent playtest, with stats like viewers watched over 5.7 million hours of Once Human Twitch streams, along with thousands more gameplay videos all around other creators’ channels.
The cross-platform, open world title will be free to play, with both PvE and PvP content to explore and take on in the post-apocalyptic open world. The team will add survival challenges, where players can compete over the scarce resources in the harsh world. They've announced that they have long-term plans for the game, and more playtests are coming.
