Once Human Devs Introduce New Starchrom and Blueprint Systems, Seek Player Feedback

Moving away from the grind

In a new post, the developers of Once Human have announced major updates to certain systems that’ll affect how players collect high-end currency.

One massive overhaul is Starchrom acquisition through a new “Stellar Stairway” system. Players can work for Starchroms by earning Asterisms in Scenarios instead of Starchroms; this new currency will also be available by taking part in standard gameplay, as well as doing Eternaland orders. The devs point out that, for one, Asterim caps work out to the equivalent for earning Starchroms; plus, the changes give more ways to earn Asterisms, diversifying gameplay.

A new Blueprint Leveling system will be introduced as well, allowing players to unlock and upgrade blueprints for new rewards. There’ll be themed goodies such as avatars, namecards and backgrounds; visual customization; a new “camo” cosmetic type; and new Keyword effects that’ll enhance the looks of weapon abilities. Upon launch, players will receive levels pro-rata so that grinding doesn't need to restart.

In the Q&A sections for these changes, the devs note that players are taking part in Scenarios for Starchrom farming instead of focusing on the intent of objectives, or “personal enjoyment.” Also, with these new updates, “We want to shift the game's focus from stat growth to earning cosmetics and prestige as forms of progression."

For those with opinions on these changes, these features were posted on the official Discord with an open thread and on the official subreddit by Starry Studio, encouraging players to engage in in-depth feedback as they would on official forums.

These updates are expected to go live December 19.
