Once Human’s closed beta test, originally set to begin today on PC and mobile, has been delayed until tomorrow on PC, with mobile to come. This comes after the team had to delay a special preview stream that was supposed to take place yesterday, due to illness.
The anticipated test for the sci-fi survival MMO was set to begin today, but has been delayed for additional work. “We have to postpone the Once Human CBT3 due to the final stages of debugging and optimization required for the current testing version. We have extended the PC pre-download until the start of the Beta,” they said.
This comes after they cancelled the planned deep dive stream ahead of the beta test, which was set to happen last night at 7pm PDT. Blaming a “team member's sudden illness and our team's busy schedule” for the cancellation, this was also accompanied with a notice, which was set to be announced during the stream, that the mobile closed beta test was delayed. “Our intent was to announce the postponement of the Beta Test for the mobile version of the game, as additional time is required for thorough testing and adjustments”. Rewards originally set to be distributed with the stream will be given out via a Discord event.
PC pre-load began and the team is extending it until the new start time for the closed beta, which is now set for tomorrow, April 4th, at 10:00 PM ET /7:00 pm PT. There is no new timeframe for the mobile beta test, but in a response to a question on X/Twitter, the team said “Due to the development and integration process, the scope of the Mobile Test for this CBT3 is more limited compared to the PC test, as it requires high-end devices”, pointing to a small planned test, but at that time, was still saying mobile testers would get notice and PC test access.
Overall, if this is indeed the final delay, it still looks like many will be able to take on the new missions, new PvE features, new dungeon, and other improvements in the closed test tomorrow.
